First night on board of the year

Robinetta has stayed in her mud berth all winter, so no major winter work has been done. I have spent several days working on her though, touching up the external paintwork and Alex has put DEKS on all the foredeck bright work, and varnished the cockpit bulwark.

Inside she has had a thorough wash down and been restored to cruising cabin mode, rather than maintenance mode. The main sail and staysail are bent on, and she looks ready for the season.

In reality she is waiting to be hauled out to get the hull cleaned as the rudder shows some healthy weed growth. Being in mud the rest should be less weedy, but we need to get the mud off so we can check the hull condition. This will not happen until June, since we are going away for most of May.

This time last year we had already been sailing for a fortnight. This year our first night aboard is using Robinetta as a static caravan while we sail our dinghy, Tiki. But it is still a great feeling to come aboard and feel her moving as the tide rises.
